Berlingot / Humbug

Brodez le motif selon la grille gratuite, les piqures du bord inclus. Coupez avec environ 1 cm de marge autour du cadre. Préparez également une ruban, ficelle ou quelque chose pour pendre votre berlingot.

Stitch the motif according to the freebie, including the stitching around the whole motif. Cut around the square leaving 1 cm of margin on the outside for the assembly. Also prepare a ribbon, a cord or something to hang your humbug with.

Borduur het hele motief zoals aangegeven op het gratis patroon, evenals de steken rondom het gehele motief.  Knip ze uit met een rand van ongeveer 1 cm voor het inelkaar zetten. Leg ook een lintje of koordje of iets om de humbug mee op te hangen, klaar.

Pliez les rebords autour du motif le long de la ligne et marquer le pli.

Fold the borders around the design along the line and mark them.

Vouw de randjes om rond het motief langs de lijn en strijk ze.

Préparez une aiguillée de fil avec 1 ou 2 brins. Faire un nœud au bout du fil. Assemblez les rebords des 2 cotés courtes en passant votre aiguille, de haut en bas, par dessous puis par dessus les points de piqûres. Réalisez de petits points par passer en dessous des piqûres du cadre, en gardant une tension dans le fil sans pour autant trop le tendre (= façon biscornu).

Prepare a needle with 1 or 2 strands of thread. Make a knot at the end. Assemble the 2 short sides by passing the needle down, then over to the next stitches. Make these stitches while going under the borderstitches, while keeping some tension on the thread, but not too much (= biscornu style).

Zorg dat je een naald hebt met 1 of 2 draden. Maak een knoopje aan het uiteinde.

Naai de 2 korte kanten samen door de naald van boven naar beneden en vervolgens over die steken naar de andere kant te bewegen. Maak deze steken door onder de randsteken te gaan, terwijl je spanning op de draad houdt, maar niet teveel (= zoals 'n biscornu).

Poursuivre à l'angle et continuez d'assembler le coté longue plié sur lui-même. Interrompez la couture avant la fin pour insérer votre ruban / corde / ficelle. Complétez la couture pour fermer entièrement cette coté longue. Réalisez un nœud pour bloquer le fil. Cachez le nœud.

Continue in the corner and go on to stitch together the long side folded onto itself. Pause stitching before the end to insert your ribbon / cord. Finish stitching to close this long side. Make a knot and hide it.

Ga door in de hoek en blijf de gevouwen lange zijde samen naaien. Pauzeer het naairen voor het einde om het lint / koord / touw erin te naaien. Naai verder tot de lange zijde gesloten is. Maak een knoopje en verstop deze.














 

Pliez l'autre ouverture perpendiculaire sur celui d'avant et fixez-le avec un épingle. Fermez cet ouverture jusqu’à vous avez une ouverture suffisante pour ajouter le bourrage.

Fold the other opening perpendicular to the other one and fixate it with a pin. Close this opening until you have an opening ample enough for filling.

Vouw the andere opening haaks op de vorige en fixeer dit met een speld. Sluit deze tot een opening nodig die groot genoeg is om te vullen.

Après avoir inséré le bourrage, complétez la couture pour fermer entièrement. Passez votre aiguille à travers le berlingot et réalisez un nœud pour bloquer le fil. Ne laissez pas de fil visible.

After putting the filling in, finish stitching by closing the humbug completely. Put your needle a little way through the humbug and make a knot. Don't leave any visible thread.

Nadat de vulling erin is gedaan, kun je doorgaan met dichtnaaien tot de humbug geheel gesloten is. Maak een knoopje aan het einde en werk deze onzichtbaar weg. Laat geen draadje zichtbaar uitsteken.

Biscornu (2)

Stitch the motif according to the design, including the stitching around the whole motif. Cut around the square leaving 1 cm of margin on the outside for the assembly. Cut a square of fabric the same size as the stitched square plus 1 cm.

Borduur het hele motief zoals aangegeven op het patroon, evenals de steken rondom het gehele motief.  Knip ze uit met een rand van ongeveer 1 cm voor het inelkaar zetten. Knip ook een vierkant uit stof met dezelfde grootte als het motief plus ongeveer 1 cm.

Pliez les rebords autour du motif le long de la ligne et marquer le pli. Pliez les rebords du tissu assorti egalement jusqu'a il a la meme taille que le carree brodee.

Fold the borders around the design along the line and mark them. Fold the borders of the assorted fabric as well until it has the same size as the embroidered square.

Vouw de randjes om rond het motief langs de lijn en strijk ze. Vouw de randen van de bijpassende stof ook om tot het dezelfde grootte heeft als het geborduurde vierkant.

Avec un épingle, repérez le milieu d'un des cotés du motif recto.
Préparez une aiguillée de fil avec 1 ou 2 brins. Faire un nœud au bout du fil.

With a pin mark the center of one of the sides on the front side of the motif.

Prepare a needle with 1 or 2 strands of thread. Make a knot at the end.

Markeer met een speld het midden van een van de zijden van de bovenkant van het motief.

Zorg dat je een naald hebt met 1 of 2 draden. Maak een knoopje aan het uiteinde.

Réalisez un point pour assembler un coin du motif verso au milieu du motif recto (à l'emplacement de l'épingle)

Make a first stitch to assemble the corner of the back side to the middle of the front side (where the pin is placed)

Maak een eerste steek om de hoek van de achterkant vast te maken in het midden van de voorkant (waar de speld zit)

Assemblez les rebords des 2 carrés en passant votre aiguille, de haut en bas, par dessous puis par dessus les points de piqûres. Réalisez de petits points, à une cote par passer à travers la toile et à l'autre cote par passer en dessous de la piqure du cadre, en gardant une tension dans le fil sans pour autant trop le tendre.

Assemble the 2 squares by passing the needle down, under the stitch, through the fabric and then over to the next stitches. Make these stitches while going through the fabric on one side and going under the borderstitch on the other side, while keeping some tension on the thread, but not too much.

Naai de 2 vierkanten samen door de naald van boven naar beneden onder de randsteek en door de stof steken en vervolgens over die steken naar de andere kant te bewegen. Maak deze steken door aan de ene kant door de stof te steken en aan de andere kant onder de randsteek te gaan, terwijl je spanning op de draad houdt, maar niet teveel.

Poursuivre à l'angle et continuez d'assembler les 2 carrees. Progressivement l'ouvrage prend la forme du biscornu, un petit coussin avec 8 angles.

Continue in the corners and go on to stitch the 2 squares together.While doing this, it will more and more look like a biscornu, a little cushion with 8 corners.

Ga door in de hoeken en blijf de 2 vierkanten samen naaien. Terwijl je dit doet gaat het steeds meer op een biscornu lijken, een kussentje met 8 hoeken.

Interrompez la couture après le 6ème ou 7ème cote, à vous de décider. Il vous faut une ouverture suffisante pour ajouter le bourrage.

Stop stitching after the 6th or 7th corner, you decide. You'll need an opening ample enough for filling.

Stop het samen naaien na de 6e of 7e hoek, dat mage je zelf beslissen. Je hebt een opening nodig die groot genoeg is om te vullen.

Après avoir inséré le bourrage, complétez la couture pour fermer entièrement le biscornu. Passez votre aiguille à travers le biscornu et réalisez un noeud pour bloquer le fil. Ne laissez pas de fil visible.

After putting the filling in, finish stitching by closing the biscornu completely. Put your needle a little way through the biscornu and make a knot. Don't leave any visible thread.

Nadat de vulling erin is gedaan, kun je doorgaan met dichtnaaien tot de biscornu geheel gesloten is. Maak een knoopje aan het einde en werk deze onzichtbaar weg. Laat geen draadje zichtbaar uitsteken.

  
Choisissez 2 boutons assortis à votre broderie. Fixez les boutons en les cousant au centre de chaque face, en passant votre aiguille à travers le biscornu, d'un bouton à l'autre, avec un fil bien tendu.

Choose 2 buttons fitting you stitching. Fix them by stitching them in the middle of each square, threading your needle all the way through the biscornu from one button to the next with a thread under a lot of tension.

Kies 2 knopen die bij het borduurwerk passen. Maak ze in het midden van ieder vierkantje vast, door de naald helemaal door de biscornu te steken van een knoop naar de andere, met een draad met veel spanning erop.

Voila, un autre biscornu!

Broder l'ensemble du motif du recto et du verso, y compris le contour au point de piqûre. Les 2 cadres doivent être exactement la même taille.
Couper autour du cadre en laissant environ 1 cm de marge à l'extérieur de la ligne pour l'assemblage.

Stitch the complete motif of the front and the back side, including the stitching around the whole motif. The 2 squares should be the same size.

Cut around the square leaving 1 cm of margin on the outside for the assembly.

Borduur het hele motief voor de voor- en de achterkant, evenals de steken rondom het gehele motief. De 2 vierkanten moet precies even groot zijn. Knip ze uit met een rand van ongeveer 1 cm voor het inelkaar zetten.

Poursuivre à l'angle et continuez d'assembler les 2 lignes. Progressivement l'ouvrage prend la forme du biscornu, un petit coussin avec 8 angles.

On va d'abord construire les deux fleurs.
Pour cela il faut attacher 5 carrés ensemble (avec le coeur du fleur au milieu).

First we're to assemble the two flowers.
For that we're going to stitch 5 squares together (with the heart of the flower in the middle).

We gaan eerst de twee bloemen in elkaar zetten.
Daarvoor moeten er 5 vierkanten aan elkaar gemaakt worden (met het hart van de bloem in het midden).

On pli les bords sur les piqûres qui vont autour des carrés; on met les plis de deux carrés l'un sur l'autre.

You have to bend the edges on the line of stitches; then you put the bended edges of two of the squares together.

De randen van de vierkantjes moeten omgebogen worden op de stiklijn; dan leg je de omgebogen randen van twee vierkantjes op elkaar.

Sur le cote droit on surfile les 2 carrés (de nouveau avec un fil dans le même couleur que le tissu),

On the right side you slipstitch the 2 squares together (again with a thread in the same colour as your fabric).

Op de goede kant naai je met een bovenhandse steek de 2 vierkantjes aan elkaar (wederom met een draad in dezelfde kleur als de borduurstof).

Ensuite on obtient cela avec que 2 carrés...

Then you'll get this with just 2 squares....

Dan heb je dit met slechts 2 vierkantjes...

Mais après on a cette forme bizarre quand tout les 5 carrés sont attachés.

But afterwards you'll have this strange shape when all 5 squares are stitched together.

Maar daarna heb je deze vreemde vorm als alle 5 vierkantjes aan elkaar zitten.






Et on fait cela encore une fois avec les autres 5 carrés. Maintenant nous avons les 2 fleurs.
And then you do it all over again with the other 5 squares. Now you have the 2 flowers.
En dan doe het nog eens dunnetjes over met de andere 5 vierkantjes. Nu heb je de 2 bloemen.

Maintenant nous allons attacher les 5 carrés aux fleurs.

D'abord on coude les 5 carrés à une des fleurs. Il faut faire attention que vous attacher les carrés dans une façon qu'il y a une tige dans le coin à gauche et à droite; comme ça les tiges continuent tout autour du biscornu.

Now we are going to attach the 5 squares to the flowers.
First we slipstitch the 5 squares to one of the flowers. You'll have to pay attention to stitching the squares in a way that you have a branch in the left and in the right corner; that way the branches continue around the biscornu.

Nu gaan we de 5 vierkantjes vastmaken aan de bloemen.
Eerst naaien we 5 vierkantjes aan een van de bloemen. Je moet oppassen dat je de vierkantjes zo vastnaait dat er in de linker en rechter hoek een takje zit; op die manier lopen de takken door rondom de biscornu.

Après on coude 4 carrés à l'autre fleur, mais....

After that we slipstitch 4 squares to the other flower, but....

Daarna naaien we 4 vierkantjes aan de andere bloem, maar....

..on laisse pour l'instant une ouverture entre le dernier carré et la fleur pour pouvoir remplir le biscornu.

..we leave for now an opening between the last square and the flower to be able to fill the biscornu.

..we laten nu nog een opening tussen het laatste vierkantje en de bloem om de biscornu nog te kunnen vullen.

Après de l'avoir rempli (avec des ouates par exemple) on ferme l'ouverture et on a quelque chose comme ça.

After having it filled (with cotton wool for example) we close the opening and we're left with something like this.

Na de biscornu te hebben opgevuld (met watten bijvoorbeeld) sluiten we de opening en hebben we zoiets.

Maintenant il faut choisir 2 joli boutons que vous attacher à chaque cote au milieu en traversant le biscornu avec l'aiguille et le fils.

Now you can choose 2 beautiful buttons that you'll attach on each side in the middle, going from one side of the biscornu to the other with needle and thread.

Nu kun je 2 mooie knopen uitzoeken die vastgemaakt worden aan iedere kant in het midden, waarbij we met naald en draad door de biscornu heen steken.

Il faut bien tirer pour avoir un bon creux au milieu.

You'll have to pull hard to get a good dent in the middle.

Je moet best hard trekken om een goede deuk in het midden te krijgen.
